Preserves

At Carrick Creek Farmstead we are proud to grow and eat as much local food as we can. Home canning allows us to to enjoy Ontario fruits and vegetables year round. Carol has been canning for 30 years and she’d love to share some of her wares with you. Our Rhubarb Ketchup is a customer favourite! You can also learn to prepare your own jams, salsas, pickles and more at a Canning with Carol workshop.

Handmade Soap

Carrick Creek Farmstead handmade soap is made from natural ingredients, using the skill and science of our ancestors. Carol loves to experiment with different essential oils, and products from the garden and pantry to provide an interesting array of soaps. Look for Carrick Creek carrots, herbs and local flowers in some of our fragrant soaps. We are also proud to partner with our friends at Greenock Beef to render beef tallow for some of our soaps. Soapmaking 101 is a Workshop that provides you a chance to learn more about making your own fragrant homemade soaps.

Maple Syrup

Joe started making maple syrup several years ago by tapping a few trees. Today you can see our many sugar maple trees in the woodlot on the Farm, including Mama Maple. Consider purchasing a jar of nature’s sweetener. If you visit us in the Spring, we would love to have you join us to collect and boil the sap.
